Football Ownership

It’s a hot topic at the moment, so much so that the government have jumped on the bandwagon in a perceived effort to gain votes in the run-up to the election.

Portsmouth, despite reaching the FA Cup Final yesterday, were relegated the day before and were plunged into administration earlier this year thanks to poor spending and an ownership merry-go-round.  Manchester United fans’ ‘Green and Gold’ campaign is gathering momentum and Liverpool’s fans are getting increasingly frustrated with their off the pitch situation, which is slowly having a negative influence on the pitch.

In the May issue of The Vine, I will be talking to representatives of Manchester United and Liverpool’s supporters clubs and asking whether the fans can save England’s two most successful football clubs from suffering Portsmouth’s fate.

The Vine magazine has been running for five years, but this month we relaunched with a fresh new look and much more content.
